The glory of God is necessary for us to overcome. The formula was given in John 17:5 when Jesus asked the Father for the glory upon His humanity. He has provided us with the same source to overcome. As Jesus overcame all temptation, so can we. Unless we overcome, we cannot help others to overcome.
The Apostle Paul is a great example of one who discovered the necessity of this revelation regarding the glory. In II Corinthians 11:23-30, he enumerates the many trials he went through and emphasizes that it was the glory that enabled him to do so. He proceeds in saying that he would rather glory in his weaknesses rather than in his strengths (II Cor. 12:9,10). He also says in Acts 20:24, "But none of these things move me. In II Corinthians 3 and 4, Paul points out that what the law could not do or accomplish, neither could the efforts of man attain to, but that the excellent glory could, "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" (II Cor. 3:10).
The veil that covered the eyes of Israel to this glory is similar to the veil of our flesh. When that is taken away and we see the face of Jesus Christ, we will be changed from glory to glory and shall overcome. We will be a glorious Church. This paramount truth regarding the glory is essential to the future revival.
