Lastly, we have the gift of interpretation. (I Cor. 12:10) This is a marvelous gift of the Spirit and I believe it is self-explanatory. Simply, this is the interpretation of an unknown tongue. Every message of tongues in the Church meeting should be interpreted that all may understand. (I Cor. 14:27-28) "If anyone speaks in tongues...if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God."
However in a normal congregation there should be someone who has this gift of interpretation. Sometimes when a person speaks in tongues they are able to interpret; there is nothing wrong with that. Their own tongue that was spoken by the Spirit would be Scriptural, as you could possess both of the gifts of tongues and interpretation.
In our discourse on the nine gifts of the Spirit I have been rather brief, as much could be said about each one and I could have given more actual evidences that I have witnessed. I believe I have said sufficient to cause all serious students to investigate for themselves and search the Scriptures to see if these things be true.
